โถ Play Mahjong Free NowTraditional Mahjong requires four people, a physical tile set, and a table big enough to hold a 144-piece game. Online Mahjong removes every one of those barriers. You can play solo against AI, invite three friends across the country, or jump into a public match โ all from the same browser tab.
For people learning the game, online play is especially useful. Table Mahjong handles all the rules and scoring automatically, so you can focus on strategy without worrying about misremembering whether a Chicken Hand counts this round.
Most free online Mahjong sites fall into one of two categories: bare-bones Flash-era ports or bloated apps demanding account creation before you can see a single tile. Table Mahjong was built to be neither.
Solo mode is the best place to start if you are new to Mahjong. Three AI opponents play at a reasonable pace, giving you time to think through each decision. The interface highlights valid claim options automatically โ you will never miss a Pong because you did not notice the discard in time.
Solo play is also useful for experienced players who want to practice specific strategies or just enjoy a quiet game without coordinating schedules.
Table Mahjong's private room system is built around a simple idea: Mahjong should be as easy to start as sending a group message. Create a room, copy the link, paste it into your family chat โ done. Friends click the link and join your table directly, with no account required on their end.
Rooms support up to four human players, and any unfilled seat is taken by an AI so the game starts immediately. If a player disconnects, an AI steps in automatically so the round is never broken.

Table Mahjong uses Hong Kong / Cantonese rules with faan-based scoring. A valid winning hand requires four sets (runs or triplets) and one pair. Special hands, bonus tiles, and self-draw add to the faan count. The minimum winning faan is three.
